Sun 10 - Salutations To The Omniscient Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Sun 10 - Salutations To The Omniscient

Rating: 5.0

Salutations to the Valiant One -
Surya, the Subduer of senses!

Salutations to the super speed radiance -
Surya! Racing like the galloping horses!

Salutation to the mystic symbol ‘AUM' -
Syllable that powers the realisation of the self!

Salutations to the marvellous glitter of
Sunshine that aids the lotus to blossom!

Salutations to the Omniscient!
Shimmering glow of intelligence and wisdom.

Sun 10 - Salutations To The Omniscient
POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is a series on Surya - The Sun God. In India, Surya or Sun is worshipped as God. There are plenty of Stotras or Hymns in Sanskrit in praise of the Sun God. There is an Upanishad named ‘Suryopanishad' exclusively devoted to the myriad powers of the Sun God. I have selected few verses and interpreted them to give it the form of a poem so that all poets can enjoy reading and comprehending the essence of these hymns as given in the ancient spiritual texts of India.

Sun is one of the powerhouse for me, it is created for our service and it continues to serve. Nothing more.
