खुबसूरत कमल,
कीचड़ में भी समुन्नत,
निर्दोष - निर्मल - उन्मुक्त
अति पवित्र- किंतु दुष्प्राप्य!
एक अलौकिक फूल!
शीश जिसका हर गंदगी से ऊपर उठा रहता है,
जिसे सहारा देती है- एक लंबी हरी कमल नाल,
जो मजबूत भी है और दृढ़ता से अपनी जमीन से जुड़ी है!
एक तैरता हुआ जहाज जो कभी डूब नहीं सकता,
तैरता है जैसे कोई रेशमी पंख,
कि जैसे तुम गोते लगाने लगो किसी कश्ती की तरह
यह मेरा निराधार भ्रम नहीं तो क्या है!
धरती माता की वैभवपूर्ण रचना,
आदि उसका और उसका अंत भी,
जीवन की सभी व्याधियों का उपचार,
अनेकों अनसुलझी पहेलियों का एकमात्र हल!
प्रत्येक मूर्तिकार का प्रेरणा-स्रोत,
बिलकुल सही आकार और आदर्श रूप से युक्त,
दूर दूर तक अपनी सुगंध फैलाने वाला,
अपने नीचे फैले मैले पानी के प्रदूषण से मुक्त!
समुज्ज्वल सूर्य के दिल के निकट
उसका कोमल स्पर्श पाकर खिल उठे,
उसकी चंचल किरणों में वो मुस्काता है,
उसके मादक आलिंगन में शर्मा जाता है!
रूपसी के चमकते लोचनों सी पंखुड़ियाँ,
लजा कर खिल उठे ज्यों रश्मियों की चौंध से,
बहुमूल्य हैं वो पल विरल जिनमें खिली ये रह सकें,
दीप्त किरणों में सदा आनंद अनुभव कर सकें!
भव्य है यह श्वेत कमल,
अनछुई हैं जिसकी हर इक पंखुड़ी ये मखमली!
‘पद्मासन' है योगियों का कमल की मुद्रा में आसन
परम चेतना के उच्च स्तर पर जो उन्हें ले जायेगी!
जिसका सम्मोहन प्रबल है ऐसा केवल गुलाबी कमल है
धन की देवी महालक्ष्मी के सदा कर में विभूषित
उँगलियों से जिनकी निसृत होती हों स्वर्ण मुद्रायें
जो सारे संसार को समृद्ध व मालामाल करने वाली हैं!
यह शानदार सुनहरी कमल
विद्या की देवी ‘सरस्वती' जिस पर सदा आसीत हैं
संसार पर अपनी कृपा बरसाती हैं
अतुल ज्ञान एवम् प्रकाश से!
जन्म व मृत्यु के हाथ मजबूत हैं,
तथापि, जीवन का सार तत्व!
इसका तना, पत्ते व फूल हैं
इस सुनहरी कमल के- यह पौधा परम सत्य है!
भूत, वर्तमान एवम् भविष्य,
एक हिलोर है- काल और स्थान की
जीवन का निर्बाध कर्म है खोज
इस कीमती कमल रूपी हीरे की!
Poet's Notes: जब मैंने अपने स्कूल की पढ़ाई पूरी की और कॉलेज जाना था तो मेरे पिता ने मुझे एक पत्र लिखा था. उस समय मैं 16 की थी व 17 वर्ष की होने वाली थी. उन्होंने लिखा: ‘सदा कमल के फूल की तरह बन कर रहना जो गंदले पानी में रहते हुए भी अपनी सुंदरता एवम् पवित्रता को संभाल कर रखता है. कमल के इस उदाहरण ने मेरे मन पर बहुत बड़ा प्रभाव डाला.
वर्षों बाद, मैंने यह कविता लिखी. मैं वाकई सोचती हूँ कि वास्तव में कमल ही वह फूल है जो सर्वगुण संपन्न है और हर लिहाज़ से संपूर्ण है.

Lotus grows from the polluted mud under water and blooms so beautifully and softly that it ever attracts us and teaches us about values and to remain unattached with the sequences of life although we enjoy various material things and inventions here. Shreematee Dr. Geeta Radhakrishna Menon madam has written this poem very nicely and your Hidi translation adds more value...full stars rating.
I have not read Dr. Geeta’s original poem. I will make a note to read that but your translation is beautiful. Lotus is a flower at once invoking the sense of physical, spiritual and aesthetic emotions in us. Thank you Rajneesh Manga. So good to read a Hindi poem reminding me of Hindi literature class.

Bahut bahut dhanyawad aapke iss anuwad ke liye. Bakhoob chitrit kiya kamal ke nayab gunn ko. Saahi me kichad me Kamal bann kar rahna koi aasan baat nahi. Poet's not stamps that essence quite well.
