The Brook Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

The Brook

Rating: 5.0

I saw yr reflection in the brook nearby
The soft waters went over my toes
As they remimded me of yr touch
But that was long ago
And now, I take a lock of yr hair and toss it
In the waters
At the end of the day, I continue to watch it
Floating away
Until I sawyr reflection in the moonlight
With tears in yr eyes

A painfully beautiful poem about one of life's saddest events. If we can learn from that sadness, life can become an enlightening stream of consciousness.

Somehow sometime connections between the self and another cannot be broken. That brook is a great reminder. Fantastic verse, LeeAnn.
