Those words just bubble up to the top
And they don't seem to want to stop,
Until you write them down on paper.
You never know just what you might get
A limerick, haiku, and yet
The end result just may surprize you.
They come at unexpected times
Sometimes free verse, but mostly rhymes
They often seem to write themselves.
A poet's life is never dull
About the time you feel a lull,
There comes another poem, to capture.

I know exactly what you mean. Just when you think your writing is at a lull. A spark of inspiration comes flying in and those lovely thoughts become creative poems! I love the line, " they often seem to write themselves" so true!
Hi Aqua- - Great hearing from you, girl! It's been awhile. I don't know if it's possible to have too many friends on this site and some just get lost in the shuffle, or what. I do know the system usually only shows the poems of ppl that you read frequently, so it's up to us to cast a wider net! My poem is one that all true poets will understand and relate to! : -) Thanks for commenting!
And that is why I nearly always have my writing book with me - to capture the idea on paper before it floats away! ! Cool poem!
Rightly spoken from the heart of a true poet, Carl. Carry a writing book with you always. Those poetic inspirations are slippery little chaps who quickly slip away, lest we capture them posthaste! Thanks for commenting! : -)
'A poet's life is never dull 'About the time you feel a lull, 'There comes another poem, to capture.' An experience many a poet can easily relate to. well writ apoem
Thanks so much, Aniruddha, for reading and commenting (and relating!) : -)

I would like to translate this poem
Inspirations come some times all the time. Other times it seems a struggle to write anything. Nice.
I say, Take the inspiration and run with it when you get it, because those poems are usually the best ones. Thanks, Ray! : -)
