To Bear Our Cross Poem by Meggie Gultiano

To Bear Our Cross

Rating: 5.0

When sickness comes
And we are on the wings of pain
Don't lose hope
consider these as blessings in your life
For when we are on trials
It is when we are close
to the bleeding heart of the Mighty One

Don't despair
trust God's guiding hands
His healing touch and love
and a gentle and comforting peace
will ease the burden
of the cross we bear
He knows what is best for us
In His own precious and perfect time

from Sandra Fowler..here's the message: How unfortunate there should be any question raised about such an inspiring poem. But, perhaps, the'questioner meant well. I believe that 'bear' is correct here. Do you know the old hymn, 'Must Jesus Bear the cross Alone? ' that is a wonderful example of the use of the word as you have it. Have a great poetry day. Love, SandraX

When I think of love, I don't think of just pleasant, happy things, but I believe that true love must be sacrificial involving struggle, pain, suffering, or whatever you might want to call it. I think your poem bears that out. I also think that maybe we should write not just with words but with images. Our words can and do simultaneously involve images and meanings, but this might be accomplished effectively by the spelling of words. When I was in High School and had to write a story for my English exam, afterwards I remembered that I wrote 'with his bear hands' because I was thinking that his hands were as strong as a bear even though I intended to write 'with his bare hands'. My nephew in the second grade colored the sun black and the teacher remarked that the sun was not black. I suppose she would have told that famous painter that he should not have painted the cow blue. I am glad that your poem is not bare of lofty and deep meaning.

An inspirational reminder of our limits. God rings so many bells we fail to listen to... Thanks, Meggie, shine on.

God can be a day late.......but he is always on time.... sometime we are praying for something...he knows our needs before us... when he has already set our prayers into motion..... even before we pray.... I can say this because he sent me......You..... ONCE AGAIN A DIVINE POETRY YOU WRITE.......
