When darkness is plentiful,
Or pain is abundant,
It seems hope is silent
As you soldier on.
But sunshine's most noticed
After days of storm clouds,
And darkness seems darkest
Right before the dawn.
Your images of darkness, sunshine and the dawn relate so tellingly to the human condition. A poem of ultimate hope.

I like this quick poem; well written and smooth. The last two lines drives it home. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Thomas, for reading and commenting! Most of my poems are usually longer. This one showed me how much can be said in few words.
