The ocean breeze with it's special aroma permeated the air.
I felt lonely, empty, my sister's ashes now flow there.
In my mind's eye, I saw her face and beautiful golden hair.
Oh how I wish she was also standing here.
I feel somewhat at peace, though I miss her so very much,
longing to once more feel her warm gentle touch.
In my heart, I know she is surely gone,
but in her children's faces, my beautiful sister lives on.
Quite the piece of work...sad yet a type of memorial written to what I am sure was a Great sister at one time...Sorry for your pain and I do know the feeling of missing someone...either who they once were or just the emotional side of them or of course the physical absence of a loved one after death. I so appreciate you sharing your heart with us as sometimes it seems that it is one of the only ways to turn, but it never is because you have so many who Love you who wish to help you through whenever, whereever it is needed. Top marks on this one from me... Here for you, Shelley
That poem is so touching. Its sad that your sister pasted but its nice that she lives on inside your heart. What a beautiful poem.
Melvina, this is a sincere and moving tribute to a fellow sibling that is heartfelt and beautiful. I'm sure she knows you wrote this about her. Take care my friend and thanks for sharing it with us. David

Oh, Mel, this is so beautiful and yet so very very sad! I wish i had a sister...so sorry about your loss. The closest i had to one was a sister in law, and cancer got her in 2006. She was too young! Beautful heart rending write! Best, Theo
