Bird 15 - The Birds Began To Sing In Chorus Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Bird 15 - The Birds Began To Sing In Chorus

Rating: 5.0

When humans retreated into their houses,
The birds decided to come out of their nests,
The peacocks came out of their green thickets,
To walk so gracefully into the open grounds,
To dance, so fascinatingly, with their colourful feathers!

The majestic white Swans came gliding into the canals,
The Ducks went on an evening walk with their ducklings,
The Kingfishers began their tap, tap, tap- dance on the tree barks,
The Coppersmith Barbets hammered with tuk, tuk, tuk loud taps,
The Oriental Magpie Robin began to sing, so clear and sonorous.

The birds wondered! How did the humans become so generous!
That they are sharing the Mother Earth's space with them?
Whatever the reason! The birds began to sing together in chorus,
Treee la la - Coo la la - Yippy yippy - Coo la la - Treee la la!
Much to the delight of the Mother Earth, as she sighed in relief!

Birds have freedom to fly. No one can prevent them. They are happy and there is no lock down for them. Sky is there open field to play. The majestic white Swans glide. Beautiful days start with beautiful mood of freedom for them. They are colourful and happy. A great imagery is drawn in this excellent poem shared.

I notice a bird, and I immediately see a creature living life for the moment. How are we to learn that lesson? A wonderful poem, Geeta. It goes to myfavourites.

This is indeed a splendid portrayal of the feather world. So many birds showing up in a cavalcade in their resplendent features, hues and their unique songs and calls. It appears to be a ballet dance of utmost beauty- uncluttered by any human intervention. Thanks for creating this masterpiece, Geeta ji. It goes into MyPoemList.

A beautiful poem on how humans have spoiled the natural wonders of the earth. How they being selfish do not share the space with simple and beautiful birds, animals and trees. Very nicely crafted making it interesting reading. 'Whatever the reason! The birds began to sing together in chorus, Treee la la - Coo la la - Yippy yippy - Coo la la - Treee la la! Much to the delight of the Mother Earth, as she sighed in relief! ' are so sweet lines. Thanks for sharing.10++ from me.

With lock down, when men are confined to their homes, birds and animals have a free life! Without being molested by blaring sounds or poisonous fumes, birds fly about and trill out their songs of delight! They enjoy vast space uninterrupted and uninhibited! Indeed the world of birds is awesomely beautiful and a delight to every eye. The poem and the image.... both are colorful....!
