Have - Poem by Marcia Gravett

Have you ever had your dreams just broken shards on the Marley tile floor?
Have you ever felt useless, no good and a bore?
Have you ever cried a tear for someone else?
When all that mattered was the beating of a pulse?

Have you ever come across pain and hurt?
Felt like complete dirt?
Have you ever been so alone?
Had no one to call your own?

Have you ever felt rejection?
Felt that love was more like an election?
Have you ever promised eternity to someone?
Now they are gone?

Have you ever loved so much it hurts inside?
You stay forever by there side?
Have you ever seen dreams come true?
Then all of a sudden become blue?

Have you ever put a smile on your face?
Have your heart covered in lace?
Have you ever had wings nailed on the inner layers of your heart?
Then had them torn apart?

Have you ever been so in love?
That his hands fit like a glove?
Have you ever been there?
Enough to care?
