Nature 9 - Elephant So Adorable Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Nature 9 - Elephant So Adorable

Rating: 5.0

Elephant, so beautiful!
Elegant, yet energetic,
Ears large and intuitive,
Eyes sharp and perceptive!

Huge in size,
High in intelligence,
Heavy carrier of loads,
Handsome animal with a long trunk!

Biggest eater,
Biting, munching on leaves,
Branches, barks and grass!

A pure Veggie,
Adorable and loving,
A picture of pure grace!

(3) We all know about Airavat (Indra's carrier) and Ashwathama (an elephant whose name was uttered to deceive Dronacharya into believing that his son Ashwathama- the great warrior in Kaurav Army- has died. This led to the death of Dronacharya who was leading the Kaurav Army after Bhishma) . They have also been used in religious and royal processions. Great job, Geeta ji. Thanks a lot.

(2) A number of studies have been made to unravel its social life, habits, tusks, bones, hides etc. as well as its canines (one on either side grows into tusk) , incisors, molars. They have been a part of our folklore and mythology besides being used an battles since time immemorial.
