Why Do We Celebrate Valentines Day? - Poem by Shadow Alliance

There was a red, red rose
The symbol of love
And for the symbol of peace
A pure white dove

Yellow for friendship
That never ends
And a white, white rose
For the dove to send

On Valentines day
We celebrate
Our passionate feelings
Love- not hate

But what if the feeling
You need to say
Is not love, but hate
For every day

Detest the living
And envy the dead
In a world torn apart
From which many have fled

But if you cannot save this world
Then flee and don't come back
For what use is love and happiness
When we're traveling on the wrong track?

When all is gone and all that's left
Are long lost memories
You'll find that love has no place here
As you might have once believed
