Farmer 8 - The Empress Of Farm Land Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Farmer 8 - The Empress Of Farm Land

Rating: 4.9

The lady is an Empress of the farm land,
A genuine representative of the Mother Earth,
Her body still strong with thousand rays of golden sunlight,
Her spirit still determined to win every battle of the Good Earth!

Her sturdy hands, have kneaded and moulded the muddy earth,
Her strong legs, have walked, stretched and saddled the wet puddly earth,
Her face, has matured with silver wrinkles, caring for the honourable earth,
Her heart, full of compassion, has served relentlessly the bountiful earth.

Your sweat and blood have harvested and reaped rich grains and fruits,
Your hands have held bundles of grass, leaves and seeds of vital life!
You have fed, nourished and sustained the whole world,
You have sacrificed your life for your children, grand-children and more! .

I salute you! O Adorable, Grand Mother!
You are my role model and my finest inspiration ever!

Ma'am you have brought life out of its trivial existence. Indeed the farmar is our foundation our very atom of life. Very well penned and in fact reminded our true roots. Thank-you.

Only a tender heart with sharp eyes will understand the agony, pain and sufferings which they go through day in and day out without any complaints whatsoever. They are real heros of life. They do not expect anything great from the life nor have great expectations/ ambitions to fulfill yet they do everything to the beneficial of others.

As a very inspiring saga of relentless toil and service, this old woman's life is a model to all who are unwilling to smear their hands with soil! It is people like her, who appease the hunger of the world! A wonderful tribute to an aged soul who is still active in farming and agriculture and who braves the odds of fate with determination and cheer! Top rating!

Thanks for this great and heartfelt tribute to this grand old lady from the agrarian background. Her rustic lifestyle and mundane ways may be alien to the urban boys and girls, but she is truly the one who can radiate the spirit of real Mother India. Thanks a lot, Geeta Ma'am.
