Life Is Much More Than That - Poem by Jawad Al Harake
Life, what is life? How may a wise poet describe?
Is it an object to stare at? Or is it a word to type?
Is it an idea to understand? Or is it an emotion to feel?
No, life is mush more than that, behind it are million of meanings to reveal
Life is much more than a riddle, it is much more complicated
Life is much more than a jigsaw puzzle, it is much more sophisticated
Life is a box full of success, failure, happiness and woes
Life is full of people: some few fellows and so many foes
Life is full of hopes and ambitions, yet it is very painful and tough
Life is variable: Sometimes it is a profound cry, other times a lovely laugh
'Life is a fast rotating wheel that may be ceased by an obstacle, ' I deem
Life is more than a seen reality, it is like a touchable dream
To a wise person, life is hidden behind its odd mask
Yet to a goof, life is just a harsh task
Life is a book narrating experiences and old tales
Of how sane people survived and the insane ones got off the rails
Life is a very long road that ramifies into many other roads
And the end of your journey will depend on the path you rode
So, you better ride the path that leads you to success and happiness
For if you take the other path you'll be besieged by failure, pain and darkness
I knew it throughout my life, since the moment I was born
That 'tis true what is said, 'There is no rose without a thorn'
And 'tis also true that as you sow, so shall you reap
Therefore, beware, always look before you leap
