Friendship is spontaneous and none can force to be friend unless it comes right from the bottom of one's heart.A wonderful poem.

So wonderfully expressed. The feelings are very much there in the readers heart but you have given them words and voice. Thank you, Walter. Just like friendship / Isn't friendship / If it is forced upon you. Yes, my distant friend.... We do not have to see each other

Enjoyed the imagery used by the poet to convey our common humanity. Solitude is well defined. It can be a blessing to the contemplative man. A very meaningful poem.

This poem is far deeper than the title suggests. There are many fine images in it that are very beautiful like the one which refers to the drop of rain that falls on our hand and indeed the whole poem is a fine take on how contentment can be found by the contemplative man.

Very kind and gentle. When solitude wants you/Look upon a star/And you will know that you are not alone... I felt the warmth and harmony when I read this part. Beautiful.
