Wake Up America - Poem by (brief renderings) Joe Fazio
December 6 2007
We live in a global, volatile world. What is
happening, throughout this world, affects
us, one and all.
America and its allies, are in the midst of
a war, in Iraq. Can they withdraw, before
the end of 2008? It is delusional, for anyone
to think that is a possibility.
Public theater, from different political parties,
dictate, they advance, a go, or stay policy.
All must alter their course. It is not simply
to go or stay. There must be a revision or the
current status of war. I believe the answer, is
somewhere in that strategy.
To succeed in this war by mere force, impossible.
To leave, and let total chaos reign, in the mid east,
an unwise solution. What then? Perhaps the solution
is to withdraw from the sectarian part of the conflict
and move to the borders for containment, protection
and a quick strike if necessary. As important, to
remain a stabilizing force in the region.
I am not a politician. However, I am acutely aware,
that this war, if it continues its present course,
will adversely affect us all.
