I'M Afraid... - Poem by Clara Odelia Ciutara

In this darkness
And with nobody with me
I’m alone in this night
I try not to be sunk in this darkness
I’m afraid
That nothing’s gonna change this
That nobody will come
Everything’s gone
Everybody’s left
But me with the singing wind
I’m afraid
That when it turns into day
I am still alone
And still have nothing to do
Just if the sun will light the day
Just if I can see the light
Cause this darkness
Made me ask myself
Whether sun is shining now
But I can see it
I’m afraid to know the answer
To know
That I really was born alone
And will die alone …
I’m afraid…

Hi Clara - A very poignant poem - excellent flow and content - i score it TEN.
Line 3 I'm alone in the night Line 5 I'm afraid Line 8 & 9 Everything's gone - Everybody's left. We all feel like this Clara - especially when we are ill and stuck in bed day and night. We begin to feel rejected. This is amplified in Lines 12/13 'When night turns into day - I'm still alone'. When we are alone it malkes us think about death (Line 24) 'And - i will - die alone' You make an interesting comparison with BIRTH 'I really was born alone'. The last line indicates your ongoing despair at that point in time 'I'm afraid'. Good poem Clara - drawn form your own experience. Love in poetry - JOHN.
