A Letter To Chris - Poem by ratna zaa

We had ever had a story, friend

You and I
Met once and fell in love once
On the way to my destination, I saw you
On the way to your destination, you saw me too
After our mouths got talks, our hearts did too
And the eyes became the mouth of the heart

You and I
Were impressed by each other
You said you like arithmetic
I said I like literature
We said ‘It’s great’
We completed each other
Like numeric completed characters
Then when time made us closer
You sang me a love song
I made you a love story
We said ‘It’s great’
Once again, we completed each other
Like lyrics completed tones

You and I
Stand on many differences
You have lime skin
But I have mahogany skin
You grew in the culture of the dragon legend
But, I grew in the culture of the jaka legend
You said that God is Jesus Christ
But, I said that God is Alloh
We kept our feelings in main stream
Made tolerance becoming main rule
And let the gaps fill in the banks

You and I
Went our own way
As we opened our eyes
You saw your way turned to the left
I saw my way turned to the right
We saw we can’t unite our ways

You and I
Had to say goodbye
It was the end
No cry
No sorry
We had to turn to our own way

Bye, my friend
Bye, Chris
We had a lollipop time
Now, we have to back and learn more about life and love apart
