A Mother's Devotion - Poem by Misilla de la Llana

The warmth of a mother's embrace,
Her tender touch amidst such grace.
Softly, she comforts her newborn to sleep,
Thoughts of fondness run deep.

Awaken from slumber, she gazed into his eyes,
"O my precious little one", befallen and mesmerized.
Hence fairness and tenderness she reckoned,
Unconditional love dearly beckoned.

Gently, she fondled his wee little hands,
Nestled in her arms as they gracefully danced.
Thine eyes weep, gleaming like indigo skies,
Thus she harmoniously hummed lullabies.

Tears of joy as she gently lay upon a kiss,
Cherishing each moment filled with bliss.
Whilst she will forever hold so dear,
The inspiration of a devoted mother's sincere.
