A Reason I Failed! - Poem by Maha Moustafa

I’ve been swotting up
But circumstances were against every success
I’ve been tactful, but it didn’t work
It’s agonizing I can’t bear
An altercation every where
I wasn’t adequacy
But I don’t deserve all of this
I’m put in an acrimonious situation
& in addition my love left
He was my everyone, now I’ve got none
To protect me from this world
He trespassed to my heart
But I wasn’t lucky to keep him
I don’t need to adduce I love him
But I need a reason for all the wrongs going around
I’m not a sybaritic girl
But I need peace, love and freedom
I need a life
That’s why I couldn’t focus
That’s why I failed
I don’t care about life
No-one cares about me
Every where smells acrid
The smell of fear and sorrow
I’m controlled by arbitrary decisions
I need an acumen to help me survive my life
I need a charming bracelet to bring back a life
I need every prayer, to pass these days
I need a tranquilizer
To lie again and never wake
