coming up the street
in the cool southern air
i feel rough hand on my heart
passing old men sitting on a stoop playing cards
while the music of church bells
sails over the street
an i; stressed and tired
after working all day
embracing my little angel
kissing her
brishing the hair out of her eyes
so she can see
