Best Friends - Poem by britney carpenter

i have many friends
both true and fair.
but i only have a few
who love me they dare.

the ones you rarely find.
they will be there for it all.
the special ones who
catch me when i fall.

they are rare gems
who follow through.
ready to come forth
when there is something i can't do.

they will dropp it all
to be there for me.
jump in their cars
and come to see.

by my side
they will remain.
through all the tears
and the pain.

they are in my life
where they will stay.
no matter what,
our hearts wont sway.

they see me fall down
cry out in fear.
they pick me up and
wipe away all the tears.

they are the best
i just can't explain.
the way they treat me
when i'm in pain.

but what did i do
to deserve the best?
the ones who i can't compare
to the rest?

how do i show them
how much they mean?
do i give them my all and
fulfill their every dream?

i can't thank them enough
for all they have done.
wiping all my tears away
and having all the fun.

they mean so much
but how to show.
they are my world
i want them to know.

when i give up
they pull me through.
they are my best friend
tried and true.

i'm not sure they know
what they truely mean.
they have made reality
better than a dream.

when i am selfish
they don't care.
i open my eyes and still
they are there.

i say thank you
but it's not enough.
you are weak like me
but you act tough.

you protect me from
the evils around.
when you are near
i never can frown.

i dont need materealistic items
with friends liek mine.
brighter than the sun
they seem to shine.

i wish i could show them
how special they are.
when life throws a punch
they are never far.

the lights of my life
they mean the most to me.
they are all i need
and how i strive to be.
