Champion - Poem by ugne ceponyte

In this game
Through the fight
Not a single hill
Will get in the way of my sight
Not a single dark filled night
Will be the blindfold on my eyes,
When I stumble
On the surprise filled road
If they tell me I should walk
I will run
If they tell me I should run
I will fly
If they tell me I should fly
I will reach for beyond the stars

As I stand on the podium
Higher that the other two
And shine brighter than the golden star
Taller that the Everest
With all its might,
The sparkling weight
Clinging around my neck
Will remind me
I’ve done it this time

When on the edge of giving up
Look at the things I’ve done
Look at my hopes,
My dreams,
And my secret?
I’ve only got one: never let go
If you fall
Get up and carry on
But this time
Try twice as hard as before
So when you’ll be walking this road
Remember me,
As the last one standing
