Chocolate Cake By Josie Whitehead - Poem by Josie Whitehead

Lovely luscious chocolate cake
Yummy yummy yummy!
Enjoyed especially by your mouth
And also by your tummy!

Lovely luscious chocolate cake
With sweet sweet chocolate filling
But, after eating, brush your teeth -
You'll not like dentist's drilling!

Lovely luscious chocolate cake -
With icing on your lips -
Butdon't eat many chocolate cakes
To add fat to your hips.

Lovely luscious chocolate cake:
My friends have come for tea -
And: ‘Happy Birthday' they all call;
And..... Oh oh oh! ! !
These words are meant for ME! ! ! !

    Children, in particular, love poems which have rhyme, rhythm and which paint a picture or tell a story, so I was told by a class of 30 children who persuaded me to write for them. I hope you enjoy this also. (Report)Reply
