Curious Complain - Poem by Sumeet Mukherjee

Curious Complain

Life was heading fast and nice
Happiness was real and dreams would suffice
Love was there peeping from the horizon
Amongst the clouds, it used to entice
Smile was there and so the comfort
But along with it, was one strange pain
It couldn’t make you understand how much it loves you
And that is why, to my heart I complain

To my heart I complain
That why it always takes your name
Why it always thinks about you
The days and nights are all the same
You make me forget, the all dreaded past
I learn to see the world once again
I can’t stop myself from loving you more
And that is why, to my heart I complain

You meet me in bits and pieces
Then go away giving an assurance
Leaving me with the snaps I take
And that’s my only remembrance
All alone I live these days
Which my heart can never explain
I know you have denied me everything
Still to my heart I complain

I complain because it really loves you
I complain because as a child it cries
I complain and I keep on complaining
Still my heart sings the reprise
I need your love, I need your support
Please don’t overlook my emotions
The only wish I ever had
My poems and sketches had the revelation

I still complain to my heart
And I tried a lot to stop all this
The more I try, the more it grows
And keeps me pushing into that bliss
Yes I did all the effort
And I tried so hard to constrain
But how do I stop my heart from loving you
And that is why, to my heart I complain

Yes I complain yes I do
Just for once please hold my hand
Hold it firm and hold it strong
Not like the slipping sand
Walk with me till the end of this road
You can cure my deepest pain
I promise to you and then to myself
Thereon, I will never complain
