Daydreams - Poem by Edward Hammer

A daydream can open such wonderful things
Wash away pain that horribly stings
Forget for a moment the life I am in
Think of the things that might have been

Grab for a thought that helps the day
To make sense of my life in some special way
To get me through what I think I may not
These thoughts I need but have not forgot

It's still just a daydream
Real life it is not
