Deafening Silence - Poem by taryn snow

Put on your headphones
Drown it out
Drown me out
They’re singing to you
Aren’t they
They aren’t
They don’t even know you
They don’t care

I listen
To the echoes
You’ll whistle their tune
Long after they’re gone
Strum their notes
Beat their drums on your steering wheel
And I’ll be there
In the passenger seat
Deep in the silence
You force me to hear
