Dogless Burn - Poem by Yashovardhan Kulkarni

Run
Run
Through and again for the shores

Try
Try
Try to hold on
On to these frictionless floors

When nothing is left
Bring on the memories of a cloudy summer afternoon

Why don't I feel for my wishes any more?
Who knows whose tossed the matchbox
In the air
Doing flips in the air
Making me regret of the things that could have been done
Doing flips in the air

And as the going gets more meaningless
Compress your gasp and blow it onto your ailing heart

For then you could bring on the underworld into play
Underworld,
Since the one on the earth is unnoticed,
And all the smiles feel sliding
Sliding, falling off

As the going gets meaningless,
Bring on the memories of a cloudy summer afternoon,

While the matchbox does flips in the air,
You are in for a dogless burn
You are in for a dogless burn
