Evening Note 18 - Poem by Michael P. McParland

A cool quiet evening
and I dearly miss you.
I just finished dinner
and it's time for a rest.
I wish I could hold you
and take away this
anxiety that persists.
The only thing to make
things alright now
is to have you in my arms.

I hope your day has gone well
and now in the evening
feeling whole and warm
from the love that I send.
Hold me in spirit while
I rest for a bit,
your kind heart keeps me
calm and strong with the love
it emits even from so far.

I love you sweet darling
and need you this evening
as I always do,
Come hold me tight and let's
get some rest.
You are everything that's right
and you are the best.
