Fire Sutra - Poem by Khembottra Oum
You lit the fire in the garden
burning all the flowers.
Telling yourself that you've let go.
You had a wedding without the love
wishing no one caught the bouquet.
One less lie that will follow.
You went into the darkness with a light.
still the shadows came out.
So easy to run when hope is never enough.
You used the truth as a fire
woke up from the madness
no longer asleep when you were awake.
