For She Is Me - Poem by Kelsi Benson

She's the best actress,
she plays pretend all day.
She's the best listener,
locking her own problems away.
She smiles so sweet,
can you see the pain?
She dances through life,
never leaving the rain.
She's so innocent,
if only at first glance.
She sells herself out,
forever dancing that well-kown dance.
She relieves the pain,
only to hide another scar.
She observes well,
the others discovering who they are.
She's always the same,
floating through the years.
She pulls herself together,
as she tries to hide the tears.
She falls quickly asleep,
wondering just who she'll be.
She smiles softly,
for now she's free.
She sleeps with ease,
it's beautiful can't you see?
I know her well,
for she is me.
