Fraidy Mouse (Or - It's All A Matter Of Perspective) - Poem by Scarlett Treat
I saw a widdle mousie
Under a Chair,
And I said,
'Mousie, what are you
Doing under there? '
'Oh, ' replied he,
In a quivery,
'I'm a 'Fraidy Mouse,
And I saw a HUGH cat,
One who looked, ' he whispered,
'A lot LIKE YOU! ! '
'Don't be afraid, 'Fraidy Mouse, '
I purred, ' in my
Sleek Kitty Purr,
'For he is only a Puddy Tat, like me,
And we mean you no harm...
So don't be ALARMED!
We only want to have lunch - -
With YOU! '
'HA! ' squeaked he,
With a shiver of his whiskers...
'More likely you only want - -
To have ME for your lunch - - I'm NOT STUPID! ! '
And, with a jittery shake
Of his skinny little tail,
Under the chair's rail.
When my human arrived home,
He found me under the chair,
'What are you doing under there?
Don't be such A 'FRAIDY CAT! ! '
Life really IS all a matter of perspective,
For Ava and Wyatt...grandchildren of Scarlett
And Raynette Eitel, who share the same day
of birth, March 8th.
