Friends Again - Poem by Anna Dietze

We used to be good friends
We talked about everything
Now we seem so distant
So far and so cold
I wish things could be different
The way it used to be
But it hurts to even think about it
My heart aches, yearning for more
I hear certain songs
You pop into my head
Then you pop out
Just like reality
I would do anything to get it all back
Tell me I have to do
And I'll do it
Anything
If you knew everything my heart feels
It would knock you off your feet
But I can't and shouldn't feel what I feel
You could just talk to me and figure it all out
I guess you think its not worth it
Otherwise you would've by now
Like I said, tell me what you want me to do
I'll do it in a heartbeat
Just to be friends again
