Hopeless... Love? - Poem by Jessie Hopkins

There's a boy I like
and I like him a lot.
I don't know if it's love,
which must mean it's not.

Because if it were love,
I would know right?
I would know in my heart
and not thinking I just might.

After all, we're nothing alike.
He loves his car, I love my books.
I like a guy I can talk to.
He likes a girl with pretty looks.

I may think of him every day,
but that doesn't necessary mean anything.
I may even dream of him,
but I'm sure it's just a little fling.

I know I'm not his type.
Nor is he really mine.
But I still can't get over him.
Not even after all this time.

He can be an idiot.
He can be crude.
He's been annoying.
He's been really rude.

Still, I really like him,
but I must keep on fakin'.
Whether it's love or not,
he's already been taken.
