How Rued - Poem by edward serof

buffeted by unknowns-
scoured, so that a mere plodding
keeps glimpsed envisionings of a better me
so just out of ever having the chance
of spawning fresh beyond keenest imaginings
thus reconciled with the long losing of time
kept sifting
as they've gone from zygotes to burley men
and I rue having disdained her utterly
for hating me more, I can only suppose,
since court-ordered visitation was vapid
and I'll never, ever know them
as then was.
