Into The Bed Of Heaven - Poem by Mark McConville

We follow the signs to paradise
Dragging our feet across the harshlands
Picking the skin from our blistered hands
Out of the warland

Warmen scattered like trash across a blood pool
We swim through it, grabbing every inch of compassion
Tears grab our hearts, as they build a hurricaine
Soilders fallen without a name

Saddened, stricken and bullied into war
We run, forcing ourselves through the door
From the wrath of hell, into the bed of heaven
