It Is The Night... - Poem by JeanPierre Barakat

It is the night…

And I see your face,
And I see your eyes
In an endless game
Of shade and light…

I feel, to my surprise,
That we are never apart
As colours and scents
Blend in our trembling heart…

In the Sacred Path of Life…

Is it a dream?
A longing of the soul,
To belong and deeply feel,
In the Universe, and be whole?

I know not…

But there, in some secret place
Of our passionate heart,
Lies the plain, whole Truth,
The one we carry silently within
Until the end of time…

It is Love, Love, and Love
From dawn till dusk…

And all through the night.
