Just Go - Poem by Orlando Belo
What’s making you behave this way?
You were fine only yesterday?
Is it something that I’ve said or done,
or am I no longer your only one?
You no longer seem to respond to my touch or kiss,
and I feel you no longer find me hard to resist.
Why is it you find it hard to look me in the eye?
Are you afraid that your eyes will betray a lie?
I’ve got the feeling that your love has gone,
and maybe it’s time for us to be moving on.
Why don’t you just speak your mind and say,
that our relationship has had its day?
If you have found someone exciting and new
who does love much better for you.
I would only be wasting your and my time,
if I tried to change your mind.
So, if you want to move on, you had better go now,
before we have a slinging match, or row.
What do you mean there is still doubt in your mind?
Just go and leave our past love behind.
