Late Night Wonderings - Poem by Michael P. McParland
Having again woken not long ago
from another stretch of rest need
I now sit here in bed my brain
is to occupied with thinking
to accomplish any reading.
I wonder how you are doing
and if you would come and be in my arms
to so tightly hold you and snuggle
if God granted a miracle and could bring you.
I believe you would so I just wonder
what if God would show mercy
and deliver us right to each other.
What if God would give us that chance
to be in and feel peaceful loving comfort
as we just lovingly held each other.
I just wonder if you my sweet lady
are doing okay and not suffering
from such pains that give endless tears
which feel like the loneliest things
so full of bite and burning.
I worry you're crying and feeling
deeply hurt with throbbing so fierce.
I wonder if you are just having
those life's troubles that can
bring us down and feel tired and beaten.
I worry because I'm not there to help you.
I wonder if you know just how
deeply I care and love you.
I would do anything you needed my Angel.
Late night wonderings run through my head
as I want to know how my sweet lady is.
Wondering when the night's here when
I can just reach over a lightly touch you
saying sweet Kira I so deeply love you.
Then just pull you in holding you
in true loving peace feeling whole
and as one being right there with you.
I long and ache for that time.
Just late night wonderings and memories
of my beautiful woman I love so very much.
So I lay here praying that you are okay
and are feeling the love I send to you.
I wonder when I will be able to hold you
and comfort your aching heart.
I just want to make every day and night
of your life special by giving you
my everything to make you proud and happy.
I want to just see my Angel
to give you a kiss and say I love you
and you are so very special.
I wonder in dreams that are happy
just what it will be like when it all finally happens.
So my sweet love know I am here and love you
with all of my soul and heart.
Feel all the loving warmth that I send
as I sit here thinking and wondering
praying for the well being and happiness
of my only love and true best friend.
I'll never desert you my sweet Angel dove.
My heart is eternally yours.
