Hoda Elomari

Lost - Poem by Hoda Elomari

When you get lost,
Inside yourself,
And there’s no way out,
Where do you go,
Or should you hide,
From the pain all around,
And how can they know who you are,
If you don’t know yourself,
Why do they lie,
Why do they doubt,
Who figures what life’s about,

And when you feel uneasy pain,
You cry to yourself,
You give up hope cause things have changed,
And you know there’s no way out,
So I ask my question again,
So many times that I’ve lost count,
Why do they lie,
Why do you doubt,
Who figures what life’s about?

And now you’re so tired lost in this maze,
Of figuring your life out,
Which way to turn or should you remain,
Hopelessly lost in doubt,

Your low self esteem is fading by day,
When will he stop the rain,
Your motivations have left you to blame,
I just can’t go through this all over again,

You keep fighting yourself,
You’re going insane,
Lord knows how long you can keep yourself in tact,
And so I’ll leave now with my question again,
Why do they lie,
Why do you doubt,
Who figures what life’s about?
