Love Is A Dance - Poem by Colleen Delaney

love is dance

You are on a stage
Everyone watching you

heart starts beating
amazing feeling
uncontrollable movements

you feel exhilarated
for the world to see
then it stops

the song
the beauty

once again
anxious to be there once again
the special place
where everything fits

where you feel home
and most importantly

dancing that one song
remaining in your heart
wanting it to stay there

never letting go
of those feelings
felt on that stage
wanting to stay forever
in that place

but the feeling is gone
not forever
but it is gone
that dance remains
forever in your heart

always loved
always remembered
the song stays
forever with you

The stage is sad
once again
no one dancing
to be seen by all

for now
no one knows
when it will return

an overwhelming
sadness stays
from mistakes made
while there

what the audience saw past
they saw only
an uncontrollable love
for that one thing

love is dance
