Lovely Promises - Poem by Amanda DeFrancisco
Why must I believe you?
Every word I think is true.
You make promises that you don't keep.
You never follow through.
I'm angry at you right now.
You chose her over me.
How is it that
You're never there for me,
But whenever you need help,
You know right where I am? Please tell me.
I don't seem to understand.
Of course I'll forgive you,
I always do.
I guess I can't help it,
Not as long as I love you.
