Makes Sense (Limerick) - Poem by Kelly Kurt

I will look at you straight in the eye
To explain not the how but the why
If you don’t get it, then
I’ll make clear, once again
The last thing I want to do is die

Topic(s) of this poem: life

Form: Limerick

Huh (probably your most astute report) My son in law is guilty of watching me closely figuring he is bound to outlive the geezer. So I am his insurance. And he is a great partner for my daughter.

It was both a statement on my desire to remain conscious forever and the fact that the last thing I will do is die

Hearing is one thing; listening is another. Especially when one has to say something to be listened to, but only heard, one has to repeat it, how many times, god only knows. How nicely this encounter was made to a limerick so meaningful. Thanks for sharing. X (Report) Reply

You are right, Jayatissa. Most people listen just to give their reply and not to actually hear

“PIPPIN: I didn't think it would end this way.

GANDALF: End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it.

    PIPPIN: What? Gandalf? See what?

GANDALF: White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.

PIPPIN: Well, that isn't so bad.

    GANDALF: No. No, it isn't.”

I have seen the movie and enjoyed it. I like science fiction/fantasy movies

I just want my buddy to watch my favorite movie, that is all. You will love 'The Lord Of The Rings', trust me.

I know Kelly. What I am trying to say through this quote is that death is not so bad and can be seen as a positive thing. We all often paint death so negatively as if it is the end of everything. I don't mean we should be suicidal. Life is both good and bad but death is a whole new beginning. If you would watch or read 'The Lord Of The Rings' trilogy, you would know what I mean. Preferably watch it, too see how Gandalf dies and what actually happens to him. The film glorifies life after death in a way, so you must definitely watch it my friend.

Cool quote. I was actually just being silly in a literal way. (Dying will literally be the last thing I do.) : -)
