My Dearest Cay - Poem by Melchisedeck Roche

My Dearest Cay

A little blue dress, a big bright smile
Came along my way
Little did I know the person in the dress
Would soon become my dearest Cay

I stood tall and she stood out
As she made her way towards me
I was speechless and did not have a word
For what I came to see

She was beautiful! ! Better up close
Than far far away
I came to envy the man that was to end up
With my dearest Cay

She looked at me and I looked back
And we looked and looked some more
We talked and laughed, and smile and danced
Until she said, I think I have to go

The hour was dark and the room was cold
When my dearest Cay came to depart
But fate had in store a story like none other
And this was just the start
