My Heart Died On The Train Ride Today - Poem by Pavel Derlukiewicz

I wait for my train to take me home
I look back one last time
I see you in the distance all alone
You used to be mine

Your eyes were filled with love
Now all I see is fear and hate
I tainted the innocent dove
Now my heart is left to fate

I just arrived
Yet it takes me away
My heart died
On the train ride today

I look back at the times we shared
The smile you put on my face
Best time of my life nothing compared
In my heart there's always a place

You lower your head and look away
From your face falls a tear
Why can't I wake up yesterday
To fix the pain, To fix the fear

But the past cannot be changed
How can I make such a mistake
Why can i be so deranged
Just know that nothing i showed is fake

The train horn blows through the air
I turn around to take one last glance
I want you to remember I'll always care
I just wish I can get one more chance

My heart just died
On the train ride today
