Ode To A Jasmine Flower

I behold you as the solitary flower
On the ends of a branch-let
Ah, your fragrance travels miles
Gratifying even the dull insects!

You are a naive pinnate white
Dazzle in your sparkling beauty
I know not where I am now
I bid you my earnestly bow!

I love you for your delicacy
Enthralling my soul with sheer ecstasy
I hear something that you whisper
Very benignly in my ear!

I am so temporary and short lived
Please don't pluck me, don't be rigid
I can't move as I am unmoved
Just care me in my solitude!

Oh, my lovely jasmine
I learn a lot from your delicate life
Take my flying kiss in sublime mood
I will bethink you in my solitude!

I've been reading this poem off and on as it has the right notes to set my mood. There is nature (represented by a jasmine flower) as well as a man to initiate a fantastic dialogue that warms a nature lover's heart. Many Thanks, Dr Dillip.

This is one of your best poetic expression. No matter how many times we read it always refreshes with fine and silken words and free flow. Once again Congrats.

Dillip Sir, thanks a lot for the information about the poem of the day. In this poem 'A Jasmine Flower ', you start like Wordsworth with same length of lines as in his Solitary Reaper. But within a few stanzas, you end the poem. The appeal of Jasmine to the poet not to pluck it off is heart touching. Collecting more information from the nets, you could have make it long like that of Solitary Reaper.
