On The Last Day - Poem by David Kush

As I await the the birth of spring
I watch winter take it's last breaths of life
Before it must wither and die like all things.
It reminds me of all who have gone before me
Leaving me with memories of a life all but gone
Wishing that I to may leave something worth remembering
To all that I will leave behind
For I believe we live on in the hearts of those we have touched
With kindness and caring without anything being asked in return
For like God the father to give is to gain
In ways we may only know on the last day
