One Second Smiles - Poem by Leah Martens

Sitting in plain view for all to see

Content and joy in all the faces

A picture is worth a thousand words

For it’s only a moment of their lives

Lies are covered over very well

With blue eyes and little blonde curls

For what happens to her at home

Will not be broadcasted out

Sitting out to collect the dust

So people can see one second smiles
