Rest Your Head (On My Chest 2) - Poem by Michael P. McParland
Come join me for a needed afternoon nap
my sweet lady I love so very much,
I never slept last night beyond
a short period of light drifting off.
If even in spirit please my sweet one
let me wrap you up in my arms to fill you
with all of my warmth and love.
Come slide into bed and snuggle so tight
right up against me so I can hold you close,
then rest your head upon my chest as
I softly talk to you reassuring you
that I am here forevermore in total love.
Sing you some songs and read from a book
of poetry if that's what you want.
I want you to relax and be at peace first
and then I'll tilt my head down to be near yours
and get some peaceful rest in this afternoon nap.
Come my sweet lady and let's give our hearts needed peace.
We love each other so very deep and there's no need
or good reason to not have the happiness of our dream
that we so deserve.
So slide into bed with me Kira and cuddle so close,
rest your head upon my chest as we share some sweet kisses,
then I'll rub your back and caress your cheek
giving you comfort and peace that I'll always be here.
I need you as well my sweet lady
and just want us to be in each others arms.
Please come have an afternoon nap with me
because I love you so very much
and crave the company and caring love
of my precious sweet Angel dove.
