Resting, Dreaming Of You - Poem by Michael P. McParland

Oh my sweet darling today I haven't
gotten a single thing done.
Being so drained and exhausted I rested
my head for a minute a fell into a restless sleep,
one in which we were together though
just talking and enjoying time together.
Discussing some of the things we so badly
want and need to tell each other
and that's why I was so silent here is because
I was resting and dreaming of you
until my cat Caesar meowed in my ear and woke me up.

I am truly sorry my dear that I was so quiet,
if only you knew just how tired I was
and still am and needed that rest
which with a God send I dreamed of you
and us spending time holding hands
and I was able to look directly at you
and say Kira my darling I truly love you
and want to be with you forever and ever.
I was resting and dreaming of you my sweet lady,
I love and miss you so very deeply.

Oh my sweet darling Kira I just wish
you were here to sit back and hold
to get through our rough times together
and just talk and laugh like we used to.
That's what I was so wonderfully dreaming
and I know it will happen but I want it to be sooner.
To just be holding and kissing you
just like I was dreaming and being able
to see your bright and beautiful smile
as I looked directly into your sparkling eyes and said.
I truly love you dear Kira and I so adore you,
will you give me the honor of walking right by my side
hand in hand as my Angel for all eternity?

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I'm sorry I dropped off there dear. I could never get moving in any way and just ended up resting, but I had the most wonderful dreams of us spending time together. I love you Kira in full and forever. ILYF
