Sara T.Teasdale) Loves Me( - Poem by James McLain

Sara T.Teasdale) Loves Me(
Being by me kept full and as your belly swells
and by your singing out on the porch
in the swing
inside growing good happy babies
because of your fingers and toes
butterfly wings move
and songs of them
and because of you i hush
open sweet lips-silk a rose
they rise as do i and it is you that i kiss
being made deaf, by your lips
held by you is my psychology known
by each of your little cuts
your expectations
and i lower the bucket to fill
deep within is that your well your secrets
trading in secrets as i must because
and only with you would i do
and with each new day comes the dawn
the sun full of you, yellow colors warm bubbled
i only thrust upward or suddenly
whereupon, why does your face open suddenly
as new each green spring,
it sings of you
and growing older i only live to dream of nursing
from you
while i never hated you,
i loved you and only by waiting inside of your head
climbing down into the valley of the butterflies
i continue producing, rivers of children
like red apples and sweet oranges being 'precocious
like the tide ebbing in and out
back into the sea
when my fears, having never fully and realized
and our each new crop,
Loves you and Me, 'the child and the sea.
